Krishnan Venkatesan

Krishnan Venkatesan, MD is Director of Urologic Reconstruction at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

His practice focuses on complex reconstructive urology and disorders of the urethra and lower urinary tract, including urethral reconstruction, urologic trauma, urinary fistulae, urinary incontinence and neurogenic bladder.

Dr Venkatesan undertook extensive international specialist training in reconstructive urology. He was a Clinical Fellow in Genitourinary Reconstruction at the Institute of Urology, University College London Hospitals, completed further fellowship training in urethral reconstruction at the Kulkarni Institute for Urethral Reconstruction in Pune, India, and undertook visiting fellowship training at the Sava Perovic Foundation in Belgrade, Serbia.

This international training has given him broad exposure to different approaches to urethral and genitourinary reconstruction. He is also actively involved in surgical education and the development of reconstructive urology practice.
