At the Advanced Urinary Catheterisation Academy (AUCA), we are dedicated to improving patient safety through better urinary catheterisation education. By addressing persistent gaps in training, we help healthcare organisations deliver structured, evidence-based learning that supports safer clinical practice and reduces preventable catheter-related harm.

OUR VISION
AUCA exists to address a persistent gap in healthcare: the lack of structured, practical education in safe urinary catheterisation.
We support healthcare organisations through specialist e-learning that can be integrated into their own Learning Management Systems, combined with locally delivered practical skills training and competency assessment.
Our aim is to make high-quality catheterisation education scalable, sustainable and accessible across hospitals, professional groups and healthcare systems.

OUR IMPACT
AUCA brings together three connected areas:
Licensed e-learning: Healthcare organisations can integrate AUCA courses into their own Learning Management Systems for standardised education, scalable onboarding and progress tracking.
Locally embedded practical training: AUCA supports healthcare organisations in establishing sustainable, locally delivered practical skills programmes. This may include Train the Trainer education, faculty development, implementation support and competency frameworks.
Academic leadership: The annual AUCA Conference provides an international forum for evidence, incident learning, implementation experience and evolving best practice in catheterisation safety.
Together, these elements allow knowledge to be delivered at scale, practical skills to be taught and assessed locally, and healthcare professionals to learn from one another across organisations and countries.
OUR LONG-TERM VISION
Our vision is for safe urinary catheterisation to become a recognised healthcare priority, supported by consistent education, practical competency assessment, effective escalation pathways and organisational accountability.
AUCA aspires to become a global authority in urinary catheterisation education, helping healthcare organisations establish sustainable training programmes and contributing to professional standards, policy and clinical practice.

AUCA works with healthcare organisations to establish sustainable urinary catheterisation education through licensed e-learning and locally delivered practical skills programmes.
Institutional licences are available for individual courses, 3-course bundles and the full AUCA curriculum. Train the Trainer, faculty development and implementation support can also be developed with organisations according to local requirements and available AUCA resources.
